David R. Gibbs
I started my career in financial services in 1983 somewhat by accident. At the time, I was working as a signal maintainer for the Delaware and Hudson Railroad, climbing poles and electronic troubleshooting when my Aunt asked me if I would be interested in working with my Uncle, a successful financial advisor. Although I didn’t have experience in the industry, I had always enjoyed helping people solve problems and in 1983, there were many to be solved! As it so happened, I was a natural and 39+ years later I am still here, doing what I love.
The industry and economic landscape have certainly changed since that time, but what hasn’t changed is my passion for helping clients achieve their financial goals. I view my client’s as my extended family and as such am here for them when they need me – day or night – to offer them reassurance and support. Many of my clients are in retirement or nearing retirement and although that often means there is a focus on protecting assets for the many unknown possibilities, I also believe strongly in living now. Therefore, through a combination of budgeting, savings and investments, I focus on helping my clients create a comfortable retirement without compromising their current lifestyle.
Now, along with wife Melody and our rescue dog Maggie from Sochi Russia, we call Unionville, CT home.
When I am not in the office, you can find me traveling and photographing the world! Some of my favorite spots include the British Virgin Islands, Ireland and Italy. In addition, I enjoy playing golf, reading, and listening to various genres of music.
